I compare myself so readily to others it's unhealthy. It makes me hate what I do. But the other day I started a journal entirely for the purpose of writing down one thing I learned that day, one thing I did that was really great that day, and one thing that happened that I am grateful for. It's made me feel a lot better and more grounded. This is such a competitive industry and visual mediums in general make it hard for you not to compare yourself to others, the comparisons are staring you dead in the face probably every time you open your phone. But the reality I only started shooting seriously a year ago and I've grown so much. I'll get to where I want to be, and by then I'll probably be wanting to go even further. That's growth, and it's entirely dependent on myself.
